“LIKE” us on Facebook.

The “Little Bristol of the West’s” last event of the season is also our BIGGEST event of the season! The OUTLAW FIGURE 8 cars return with teams coming as far away as Washington to prove who is the Best of the West Coast. We’ll also have Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Bombers competing for their Championships. And then, a Pumpkin Smash and Costume Contest for the kids, and finally our Skid Plates will end the day with Halloween style “racing” across a truckload of Pumpkins! It’s going to be…….well……a HUGE mess to clean up!

Point battles are still tight in a number of our divisions, and no Championship is a lock until the final checkered flag falls. Drivers needing points will have to pull out all the stops, and we have no doubt it will happen THIS SATURDAY.

Our tightest battle is in Street Stocks, with Bobby Dezarov in the cat bird seat going into the Final race of the season. The passing points have made the difference, and he as taken advantage of that as often as possible. Will Cottrell is only 12 points back and easily has a shot with the right combination of events happening.
Dylan Buxton is just 4 points behind Cottrell, and is also in striking distance for Second in points, with an outside shot at the Championship. Adam Jeffrey is 4th in points, with Dave Foster right behind in 5th. Who will come out of October 26th with our Championship?

BE THERE to see!

PJ Hernandez looks to wrap up his quest for his first ever Championship in his Rookie season! He opened up a bit more of a lead over Brandon Fisk on September 21st, so Brandon will need some help to catch him.

Shelby Oatley is still holding third in her rookie season with the “Wolf Pack’s” Joe Pablo in 4th position. Pablo has a shot at third place in points if Shelby has trouble, so he will be running hard to move up in the standings.

In our Late Models Jared King is our point leader with Previous Champion Chris Peedan 25 points behind currently. It’s going to take a pretty big effort from Peedan to catch King, but if the right combination of events happen, Chris does have a shot to make up the difference. Randy Wilkins, John Penning, and Frankie Gould are your current top 5 in Late Models.

Will Chris be able to make up the difference, or will King go on to the Champsionship? Come see this Saturday to find out!

In our Mini Stocks, Jim Holland leads by 17 points over Steve Patterson. 3rd in points Rich Connors celebrated his second ever win on September 21st. This race we did a half road course configuration to change it up a bit, and Rich apparently likes to drive road courses (I’m not thinking he knew that… But with even half a road course, Connors again prevailed.

Steve Patterson still holds second to our point leader Jim Holland, but Connors made up a lot of ground last race while Patterson was absent, fulfilling an obligation to his sponsor.

So Patterson will have to race hard to hold onto second spot. He has an outside chance to catch Holland for the Championship also, but a lot needs to fall into place. Janice Heflin continues to hold her own in 4th spot in the points Championship Chase.

Our Hobby Stock class has Don Oatley leading in the Championship by 30 points. It’s going to take a massive effort by our second in points, Johnny Troesch, to catch him. He’s been racing hurt the past few events, somehow driving with one hand. Will Johnny shake off the pain this race and put the 44 in the winners circle to end the season? You’ll have to be there to find out! DJ Jeffery is still holding 3rd spot, Michael Williams in 4th, and Dale Connors in 5th.

Late Models, Street Stocks, Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Bombers are all going for it this weekend. No Championship is a lock, and you never know what might happen!

This little division started with one car only a few weeks ago, and is now nearing 10. Cheap, Easy, Simple, and FUN. For less than $1,000 you are on the track having a blast. And that has proved to be a great direction as we continue to grow this little gem of a division through each race. We have to again thank Jim Cohan, Michael Atkinson, and Robert Rice at Irwindale Speedway for helping make this possible.

For those that haven’t seen them, here’s the only way I can describe it…..

A Rolling Destruction Derby.

They are 1980’s and later front wheel drive cars, take the rear wheels off, bolt on a wide flat plate instead, put them in drive, and watch the mayhem begin. They spin, push, twirl, slide, and somehow manage to make something that kinda sorta looks like a race. These are cars are FUN, and our new teams plan to put on a show for YOU our fans! And to spice it up for Halloween, the Plates will be maneuvering around a truck load of Pumpkins!!!! These cars are already like driving on ice, imagine the kids putting down a slimy mess of Pumpkins to “help out” our drivers!….lol.

$10 Adults, Kids 8 and under are Free. Parking Free. Optional Tail Gate spots are only $5.

After the Outlaw Figure 8 Main Event we are going to invite the kids down to smash some Pumpkins, build some Pumpkin walls, and any other possible obstacle for our Skid Plate cars to smash to smithereens! The already slippery Plate cars will be sliding even more after the kids prepare the sloppy gooey mess for our drivers! It’s gonna be fun!!!

And also on our Fun List is “The Diva Dash for Cash”. We had to postpone this from an earlier event, but it’s the perfect time to bring it on. Get ready to cover the kids eyes with this one, and really kinda just scares me just thinking about it. This will either be fun, or it will be “something else”….lol. This “race” will involve costumes, scooters, a ton of coins, and a “race car” known as “Tinkerbell” who will join field for the Diva Dash for Cash. And it could well involve our promoters Debbie and Stacie as part of the fun, you will just have to wait and see. For sure (and for good reason…lol) you will see this nowhere else but The Speedway at Willow Springs this Saturday October 26th.

DON’T FORGET- Green Flag at 1pm!
