This Saturday April 29!

Heat Races 3:30pm
Main Events 6:00pm

The racers did not disappoint with some door banging stock car action from our first race on April 15th. It’s still very early in the season, but point battles are already hot going into this Saturday.

THE Swift Napa Auto Parts “Dual 25’s!”

Powered by Swift Napa Autoparts of Ridgecrest!

It’ll be 25 laps one direction, we reverse the field and 25 laps the other way as Danny Quinn’s So-Cal Enduro rolls into their 2nd event of the season. #58 Randy Hannah from Ridgecrest fought back and forth for the lead eventually winning the 50 lap all green flag event. But #6 Stan Youngblood from Victorville was hot on the tail of the #58 right at the checkers. Hannah is always strong in this event, but look for Youngblood to challenge again for the win this Saturday. The So-Cal Enduro continues to produce the wildest action on every race night. Not to be missed at Willow Springs this Saturday!!!

#33 Logan Mainella from Palmdale took the win opening night but the #34 Tony Forfa IV from Redlands was super fast in qualifying by near a half second to his closest rival. Forfa couldn’t maintain that speed into the main event this time, but once he does, there won’t be much to keep him from the front.

#30 John Penning, #77 Alex Anderson returning from a tough 2016, and #05 Randy Wilkins were your top 5 from April 15th. Mainella and Forfa are tied for the point lead going into Event #2 this Saturday April 29th.Car counts grew throughout the 2016 season with more Modifieds and one Truck testing our Late Models in our combined Elite Class. What will 2017 bring? You will have to be there this Saturday to find out.

#25 Justin Good from Santa Clarita made a statement he intends to repeat as the Champion in The Platinum Jewelry and Loan Streets Stocks for the 2017 season taking the checkers on April 15th. #34 Tony Forfa IV from Redlands is running for the Championship in both Street Stocks and Elite, and Good will do everything he can to make sure that doesn’t happen.
#27 Don Oatley from Santa Clarita returned to the Series and finished a solid third with #57 Jerry Baxter from Lancaster and #57x Ray Butler also from Lancaster your top 5.

#25 Good leads #34 Forfa by a scant 2 points going into Event #2. This one is just gettin’ going! Who will it be this week? You need to Be There!

We warmly welcome Sterile Pros as the newest sponsor to the Willow Springs family. They wanted the most popular division at our track, and they definitely received that!

After taking most of 2016 off, #88 Donny Oatley from Santa Clarita sent a message to defending champion #44 Johnny Troesch from Lancaster, 2017 will be another challenge. Last season it was #71 of Michael Williams battling Troesch right to the final event for the Championship. #71 Williams had a tough night ending up in 4th spot, but it’s still very early, so we could well see a three or four way battle for this Championship before long. #24k Hannah Blalock posted a solid 4th in her first race back with Willow Springs and Joseph Pablo from Rosamond had a very successful night in his return to a 3rd place finish.

We assure you Troesch is not going to let Oatley’s lead stand for long, with Williams, Pablo, and Blalock looking for their first wins of the season. This one is not to be missed this Saturday April 29th!

Our Lucas Oil Mini Stock division is going to be another to watch closely in 2017. Defending Champion #19 Greg Didoha had the field covered this first race, but #13 Nate VanDeventer from Santa Clarita posted a solid 2nd in his first race in the division. A little more experience with these cars and we expect him to be challenging for wins before long.

#76 Richard Connors returned to the series after taking 2016 off to help behind the scenes here at Willow Springs. Well now he has two jobs trying to race and run our pit gate at the same time with wife Kristen. So far, so good! #42 Cary Cecil and #64 Chris Markin from Sun Valley posted top 5 finishes.

The first of our two new divisions for 2017 are the Wayne & Dave’s Automotive Mini-Dwarfs. The MD’s are broken down into Sr. and Jr. Don’t let these young kids fool you, they are doing lap times right up there with the big boys.

On the Jr. Mini Dwarfs side #43 Cameron Perryman from Bakersfield won the main event with #18 Eathan Giannetto in 2nd. On the Sr. Mini Dwarfs #7 Nathaniel Edwards, #44 Angelo Troesch from Lancaster, and #83 Sharlize Parker also from Lancaster were your top 3.

Going into race #2, Edwards leads Troesch by just 3 points. As father Johnny does in Hobby Stocks, we don’t expect Troesch to be 2nd for long!

The second of our two new permanent divisions are the 51Fifty Energy Sport Compacts. We were looking for a middle step from So-Cal Enduro toward the upper divisions and the SC fits that bill perfectly. Still an extremely low budget division to run (cars complete can be built for right around $1,500), it’s a chance to run our full track without the chicane. We think it will be a quickly growing division with it’s higher speeds, yet still cost effective starting point for racers hitting the track for the first time.

#58 Randy Hannah of Ridgecrest took both the So-Cal Enduro and Sport Compact main events, so he had a very good night indeed. #13 Kris Clark had a terrific first run with us in 2nd spot with #0 Robert Kleisher and #06 Melissa Youngblood from Victorville your top 4 in the inaugural race for this division.

And if all that isn’t enough, we have Flag Pole racing BACK for this Saturday. It’s a high speed traffic jam as competitors maneuver the flag poles at both ends of the track.
