Champions Night 2017 !!!
Dramatic point battles right down to the Final Event will unfold Saturday night! Tony Forfa IV going for dual Championships in the Elite and Street Stock classes. In our Hoopers Rear Ends Elite Division 8 points separate Tony Forfa IV and Logan Mainella. Alex Anderson is within striking distance as well.
The Platinum Jewelry & Loan Streets Stocks see Forfa with a bit of a cushion and a 12 point advantage, but Justin Good will have one last shot at him this Saturday.
Michael Williams and Johnny Troesch battled the entire season from back in April with each leading in the points. With one race to go a mere 3 points are separating the two. Friends off the track but fierce competitors on the track saw the two wreck last race will leading. Will Williams play it conservative and ride his tiny points lead, and how will Troesch respond? Anything can and will happen this Saturday, nowhere else but Willow Springs!
In what was a far runaway in our Lucas Oil Products Mini Stocks, a run of bad luck for point leader Greg Didoha sees it down to a 8 point lead going into Saturday. Didoha did not make it to the main events in both the last two races opening the door for Cary Cecil to walk in. Will Cary take advantage and win his first Championship? Be there this Saturday to see it unfold!
Our new 51 Fifty Energy Drink Sport Compacts also see a battle for the first Championship with Ken Iannalfo Sr. leading by a razor thin 2 points over Keith Murphy. But long time racer Randy Hannah is hot on their heels.
One race to go, it’s anyone’s to take!
Open Comp Figure 8 returns for the rest of the 2017 Season sponsored by Mirror Image Audio. It will be an Open Competition event with just about any race car that wants to take part on our wild and fast Figure 8 course. It is said we have one of the best Figure 8 layouts in the Country, come see some crazy action in the Intersection this Saturday! ONLY at The Speedway at Willow Springs!
SNAP ON TOOLS OF RIDGECREST “So-Cal Enduro 60!”
We enjoyed our largest car count ever last race in the So-Cal Enduro. Brady Mertz raced hard but did not defend his last few wins with the $900 bounty and purse claimed by Daniel Hudson. We have a Championship TIED in this division between Stanley Youngblood and Ken Lukaszonas with one final race to decide it.
THIS CAN’T BE MISSED, only at Willow Springs this Saturday!
October 7th event your top 5 in So-Cal Enduro were….
1.) #17 Daniel Hudson
2.) #169 Ken Lukazonas
3.) #2 Daniel Dyer
4.) #44x Mike Miller
5.) 13x Mike Howard
The So-Cal Enduro continues to produce the craziest action on every race night. Not to be missed at Willow Springs this Saturday!!!
HOOPERS REAR ENDS “ELITE DIVISION”
Redlands Tony Forfa IV #34 once again started from the rear of the field, and still came away with the win on October 7th adding a few more precious points to his lead. But Lancaster’s Logan Mainella #33 is still close enough 8 points back should Forfa falter in any way. Forfa is going for twin championships in both the Elite and Street Stock classes.
Leona Valley’s Alex Anderson #77 lost a little ground in the battle for 2nd spot, but Lancaster’s Randy Wilkins had a solid event on October 7th winning the heat race and 3 valuable points and finishing 3rd in the Main closing on Anderson for 3rd spot in the standings.
Coming this Saturday it’s a Late Model vs. Modified for the 2017 Championship. Will we have our first ever Modfied Champion in the Hoopers Rear Ends Elite Division?
You can’t miss this one Saturday night!
October 7th Top 5 Results were….

2.) #33 Logan Mainella
3.) #05 Randy Wilkins

THE PLATINUM JEWELRY & LOAN “STREET STOCKS”
Going for twin Championships this Saturday, Redland’s #34 Tony Forfa continued his winning streak and giving a little daylight over Santa Claritas #25 Justin Good. But this is far from over with a number of cars expected to return this weekend setting in motion the possibility for Good to have a big points night and a shot.
October 7th Results were….
1.) #34 Tony Forfa IV
2.) #25 Justin Good
3.) #57 Jerry Baxter
4.) #71 Tony Provenzano
5.) #81 Kasey Parker
THE “K&N Filters” HOBBY STOCKS
Friends off the track but fierce competitors on the track took on a whole new meaning as with both leaders were bumping, banging, and then tangled in turn 3 sending both cars to the pits and bringing out the Red Flag.
Coming back to green with 5 to go Bakersfields Brian Childress #195 led the way, but Lancaster’s Brady Mertz running his grandfathers #72 was not to be denied. Making the pass for his first ever win in the Hobby Stock class Brady Mertz made a statement he will be someone to contend with in 2018.
This sets the stage for the big finish this Saturday! 3 tiny points separate Quartz Hill’s Michael Williams #71 and Lancaster’s Johnny Troesch #44 to be the 2017 Champion.
Who is it going to be????
DON’T MISS IT!!!!

THE LUCAS OIL MINI STOCKS
#22 John Sereika again claimed the top spot in the Lucas Oil Mini Stock Event with fellow competitor #2 Joe Fernandez close behind. #15 Robert Waters continues to improve and we welcomed #32 Tony Caputo to the field and a returning #11 Nate VanDeventer.
But the season long championship battle continued to unfold with Cary Cecil finishing third and closing the gap to our leader Greg Didoha.
In what had been a cruise control defense of his 2016 Championship in the Lucas Oil Mini Stock division, is now anything but for Lancasters Greg Didoha #19. Cary Cecil #42 again took advantage and is now within 8 points of Didoha for the Championship. A solid 3rd place finish by Cecil closed the gap even more and another good luck night from Cecil will put him over the top!
Cecil or Didoha?
Don’t miss this Saturday!

51FIFTY ENERGY DRINK SPORT COMPACTS
The second of our two new permanent divisions are the 51Fifty Energy Drink Sport Compacts. We were looking for a middle step from So-Cal Enduro toward the upper divisions and the SC fits that bill perfectly. Still an extremely low budget division to run (cars complete can be built for right around $1,500), it’s a chance to run our full track without the chicane. We think it will be a quickly growing division with it’s higher speeds, yet still cost effective starting point for racers hitting the track for the first time.
And don’t forget….
